She is a woman of strength and beauty who became a physician during a time when women were a minority in medicine. She helped forge a path that I would later walk with more ease and less discrimination. The sharpness of the highlights sculpting her face creates a sense of boldness that she embodies. The voluptuous and immaculate hair speaks to her natural beauty but also to her attention to detail. The bomber jacket represents her no-frills-get-it-done approach to life. Her gaze is off to the side and locked on something, not aimless but intentional. This is my mother whom I admire and emulate.
